Treatment plans will address many aspects of your life, from physical needs, including nutrition, exercise and sleep, to mental and emotional stressors related to social, work and community life.

Traditional Chinese medicine aims to restore the body's balance and harmony between the natural opposing forces of yin and yang, which can block qi and cause disease. Traditional Chinese medicine includes acupuncture, diet, herbal therapy, meditation, physical exercise, and massage.

Allie Armstrong, FMCHC, is a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach & Herbalist working with individuals and groups to facilitate deep healing through the use of herbal medicine, nutrition and lifestyle coaching, intuitive guidance, and what she’s learned from walking her own path to wellness. Holly J. Brown, DAOM, LAc is a Doctor of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist, and Herbalist. She practiced as a primary care practitioner for 10 years in Florida prior to relocating to Maine. She attended the University of South Florida for her undergraduate degree and graduated in 2003 from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego. She is board certified with the NCCAOM. She practices in Brunswick and Bath, Maine.​

A major focus of Dr. Brown’s work is the ​study ​of the human microbiome, gastrointestinal system, and autoimmune disease. In her clinical practice, she has found that many issues relate back to the gut, specifically bacterial imbalance, absorption, and the functioning of the organs of excretion. She is well-versed in the use of stool analysis, providing her the opportunity to interpret the influence of organisms as well as the functional aspects of the digestive system on all manners of human physiology.

Molly Maguire, LAc is a Maine state Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. She received her Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, New York, and has been practicing since 2014. She is board certified with the NCCAOM, and is a professional member of the Maine Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Molly grew up in Maine, and after living away for many years, moved back to the area in 2017 to practice with Dr. Holly J. Brown in Brunswick and in Bath.

Kathleen O’Brien, PA-C is a Maine state licensed Physician Assistant. She is transitioning to Functional Medicine, as well as training in Oriental Medicine. She previously practiced in Family and Internal Medicine for 13 years in the Midcoast Maine region. She received her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant from the University of New England. She is board certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and has completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice course through the Institute of Functional Medicine.

Kathleen was born and raised in Brunswick, ME, and has lived most of her life in the Midcoast region.

Kathleen’s experience in a primary care setting contributes to her comprehensive knowledge of all organ systems and their interconnectedness. She values the importance of finding and addressing the underlying cause of a problem, while supporting the body’s self-healing mechanisms.

Kathleen’s philosophy of patient care is to support patients in setting and achieving their own health goals and help them thrive mentally, physically, and spiritually.

She offers comprehensive care including digestive/musculoskeletal/mental health, as well as optimizing nutrient and hormone levels. Through the use of testing, nutrition, and exercise counseling, as well as lifestyle modifications she is able to offer individualized recommendations for treatment plans.

Her practice focus is on integrating the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health care, using mindful practices, such as breathing exercises, meditation, and yoga.

Kathleen is excited to be training and collaborating with Dr. Holly and Molly in their integrative approach to helping people live their healthiest lives. Kathleen loves using her own life journey and experiences to help others. She believes in using the energy of her own challenges and turning it into care for others.
